Shocked Man’s Alert to 108 is ‘Golden’ Call

CHENNAI: “I felt proud when I heard that the timely information I gave saved the lives of many,” said S Dinakaran, a lathe worker who informed the 108 about the building collapse near Porur.

Dinakaran, who is still in  a shock, said  he was standing outside his house as it rained, exactly at 4.46 pm, when he heared a loud noise after which the building started to collapse. “I don’t know what made me  call the 108 immediately, I phoned them up as I was watching the building crashing down,” said Dinakaran.

“The staff at 108 understood the seriousness of the accident and informed the rescue teams,” he added.
