CHENNAI: It has been 27 years since he succumbed to a heart attack at the age of 60. Kishore Kumar, one of the most celebrated voices, however, continues to captivate music lovers and inspire budding singers, despite the changes in the tastes and preferences of audiences. Considered to be one the most evergreen voices, Kishore Kumar has a whole chapter dedicated to him in the history of Hindi music.
As an ode to the singer-actor and composer, Chennai-based music group Satrangi has organised a music evening titled ‘Kishore Forever’on October 4. The show will have singer and Satrangi founder Pramod Nair, supported by Chennai-based Usha Raj, rendering some of the timeless hits of Kishore from four decades of his career in Bollywood.
On pre-recorded tracks, the show will reminisce the best of his career — songs sung by him and a few picturised on him as well. The playlist includes numbers from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Paying Guest, Jhumroo, Amar Prem, Padosan, Mere Jeevan Saathi, Prem Pujari and Aandhi.
