Having turned one recently, The Royalty India, a tabloid which was earlier known as Lifestyle Plus, celebrated its anniversary with a fashion show-cum-fundraiser at the Crowne Plaza in Chennai Adyar Park.
The proceeds from the event are to benefit the Guild of Service Home for the Handicapped. Some of the city’s famous personalities including industrialists, entrepreneurs, socialites and stars were among the guests present on the occasion.
To entertain the guests and celebrate the occasion, a fashion show was staged. It had models walking the ramp and flaunting a collection made exclusively for the show. It was produced in association with Satya Paul and GenX designer duo, Studio 9696, who had specially curated a line inspired by Satya Paul fabrics for the event. The show, choreographed by Priya Manikandan, featured actor Anshul Pandey, actress Sonia Aggarwal, Divya Darshini, Karun Raman, well known choreographer and stylist, and Prabhu Laxman, an edupreneur.
To help raise awareness about the Guild of Service, the finale of the show had stars walking the ramp along with children from the home. Representatives from the guild were present at the venue.
Talking about the event, Roshni S Hemdev, founder of The Royalty India, said, “The main idea of celebrating the anniversary is the cause that we have attached to it. Helping these children in their day-to-day lives only adds to our celebration. I believe no celebration is complete without giving back to society. This is my way of doing so. Come, help me help them.”
