Justice G Chockalingam, Madras High Court, was the guest of honour at the event. BBCL started the sapling planting initiative at one of its premium residential projects ‘BBCL Ashraya’, located at Thoraipakkam.

Vummidi Ananth, managing director, BBCL, said, “Since 2013, BBCL has pledged to make all its projects green. The campaign is a step towards reaffirming our commitment to keep the environment green. As part of the initiative, around 50 of BBCL Ashraya’s residents took part in the sapling planting initiative. They named their saplings and took an oath to maintain it on a regular basis. Ananth added, “This is not a one-time activity for us, but a life-long commitment. Soon we will be initiating this campaign across our other projects as well. We would like to expand this message of ‘Go Green’ beyond our patrons through our association with the right partners.” This initiative will be taken over to six of BBCL’s projects in the city targeting more than 500 of its residents.
