CHENNAI: Ardent devotees were seen standing in row, eagerly waiting and yearning to get a glimpse of the presiding deity as soon as the doors open. The difference of course was the fact that this was an audience waiting to witness Vaikunta Dharisanam. A musical theatre by Kaustubha Mediaworks that proposed to transport its audience to the celestial abode of Sri Vishnu in Vaikundam.  The entrance décor itself was designed like a Swargvasal with Lord Hanuman at the entrance and the pathway was beautifully designed leading way to the main auditorium which was converted into Blue Sky, Lotus Pillars giving it a complete heavenly feel.

The recurring sound of the temple bells and the conch, the spectacular stage designed to match Vaikundam, the costumes of the dancers and other performers during the show made the audience keep their hands folded in devotion. The show featured various aspects and relevance of Vaikunta Ekadashi. A divine yatra.- a holy pilgrimage   to Vishnu’s divine abode . The show was inaugurated by U Ve Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy who appreciated the theme of the evening and the uniqueness of the show about how Kaustubha Mediaworks had simplified the various concepts about Vaikunta Ekadashi and put it across to the audience so they could understand and enjoy it easily.

The evening came to a fitting finale as the Vaikunta Dwara opened. With the priest chanting holy hymns and flowers showering from above on the aesthetically decorated Sri Ranga a 8ft long Idol of the diety the devotees took part in the celebration as the special pooja was perforemed.

A rewarding experience that transcends the body and soul to the celestial abode of Sri Vishnu.
