SS Rajendran's Daughter Files Land Grab Plaint

CHENNAI: The daughter of the late yesteryear actor S S Rajendran filed a land-grabbing complaint against two real estate promoters alleging they had grabbed 10 acres of her land in Thiruporur. S S R Lakshmi said the land was purchased in her name by her father in 1981, when she was six years old.

Identifying the two accused, who are residents of Ashok Nagar, Lakshmi said she was misled into entering into a “joint development property agreement.”

In her petition submitted before T K Rajendran,ADGP (Law and Order) she said out of 10 acres of land, she had agreed to sell 8.03 acres in 2012 to the persons accused by her.

“The total consideration for the sale was a sum of Rs 4,57,71,000. But they paid me only 1,59,56,210 and have not paid the remaining amount. A cheque given by them has bounced due to insufficient balance in the account,” she said in the petition.

hile this was pending, she said they approached her for “joint development property agreement” to which she agreed trusting them.

“I was asked to sign the agreement and several other stamp papers  below the agreement. They forged my power of attorney. I was under the impression that I was signing the agreement, but they forged my power of attorney deed,” she said.
