CHENNAI: City Police have registered a FIR against the Nagapattinam based man after his posts on facebook in which he is seen burning the national flag went viral. Pulianthope police have registered a FIR after a petition filed by Hindu Makkal Munnani. Earlier, a city based airline pilot, C R Naveen Kumar of Chromepet had also filed a petition with the City Police Commissioner's office.

Pulianthope cops have registered FIR under sections 153 (b) of IPC ( imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), section 2 of prevention of insults to national honour act and Section 66 of IT act.

Police sources said that efforts are on to track the whereabouts the youth identified as Dhilipan Mahendran. The post on his facebook page was put on saturday noon in which he also condemned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
