CHENNAI: Aadhav Kannadasan is an actor in the Tamil film industry. He was seen as the male protagonist in the film Ponmalai Pozhudhu (2013) and in the Tamil horror comedy film Yaamiruka Bayamey (2014) in a brief role. He has currently produced a Tamil short film Oliyum Oliyum which has been selected in the Chicago South Asian Film Festival (CSAFF).

I was born here and everything here feels home! Chennai connects me in all the ways that can put a smile on my face

Samantha, she’s like namma ooru ponnu. But, sadly with the news doing the rounds, looks like she’s taken!  

Three things here that can’t be found in any other part of the world?
Mixed culture, thala - thalapathy craze, Thiruvanmiyur more Thatha

Your favourite hangout spot in the city?
Besant Nagar beach, Anokhi Cafe and Sathyam Cinemas

Three stereotypes about the city and the people that makes you roll your eyeballs?
They say traffic and I’m like ‘have you been to Bengaluru or Mumbai? So just sshhhh!’ Second would be the nightlife — I think we have a decent number of places to chill here.We cannot compare it to other cities as we have a mixed culture. Third would be the climate talks — its always hot, but, they will pack their bags to Dubai like its snowing there!

Where would you take a person who is new to the city? Why?
A drive on ECR and to North Madras — ECR is beautiful with the beach view and North Madras in unique — harbour view in the night bazaar, old buildings and street food

What would you do to prove to someone that you are true Chennai vaasi?
I’ll just be myself and maybe talk our local slang — Chennai dawww!

Galeej and gubeer

Coffee powder — pride of being a Chennaiite

If you had to draw a comparison between chennai and any other city/country, what would it be?
And why?
I will never compare Chennai — It’s unique !

What is the craziest thing you have ever wanted to do in the city? And where?
I wanted to check out the spooky (haunted) places in Chennai — like Valmiki Nagar, Demonte Colony, Little Folks and lots of places
