Unidentified persons break into parked cars, steal cash and phones

CHENNAI: Two mobile phones and Rs 5,000 in cash were stolen after breaking car windows at Kodambakkam and T Nagar on Sunday.

The police said Ignatius (34) of T Nagar had parked his car outside his house at Vivekananda Street. On Monday morning, he found the car windows broken and a purse with Rs 5,000 kept inside stolen. The Mambalam police have filed a case and further investigations are on.

In a similar incident, Surya Prakash (38) of Kodambakkam, a call-taxi driver who had parked his car outside his house at Buddha Street, found the car windows and mirror broken and two cell phones stolen on Monday morning. A case has been filed and a probe is on.
