CHENNAI:  A man in his 50s was found dead inside a parked car on the roadside, in Valasaravakkam on Wednesday evening.

The police said the car belonged to D Aravindh (42), a share market agent from Kanagathara Nagar Main Road in Valasaravakkam.

Around 7.30 pm on Wednesday, Aravindh and his wife planned to watch a movie. When he opened the car door, he found a man in the back seat. There was a tobacco packet next to him and there was a strong smell of alcohol, said a police officer.

Aravindh immediately informed the police, and a patrol team led by SI Selvaraj rushed to the spot. An ambulance crew declared the man dead. Aravindh told the police that he last opened the car door on Monday morning and had failed to lock the car. A probe is on,
