HYDERABAD: The terror suspect, Viqar Ahmed alias Ali Khan, is not only an expert in changing his appearance to mislead people but also a perfect planner of things.
Viqar reportedly left no trace of his belongings at his Old Malakpet house when he left one-and-half years ago.
He told his parents that he was leaving in search of a job and it was his father, Mohammed Ahmed, who dropped him at the railway station.
Little did Ahmed know that his son was choosing the wrong path. Viqar, who managed to flee from the police after firing at three constables of the Counter-Intelligence (CI) cell at Santoshnagar a couple of days back, reportedly took away all his photogpraphs, certificates and everything related to him from his house when he set off on his journey.
A few hours after Viqar escaped, the police searched his house but found nothing. ‘’There is not a single belonging of Viqar. Members of the family claim they too were astonished to find that Viqar took away all his belongings, even photographs and documents when he left in search of a job,’’ a senior police official said.
Ahmed had, in fact, dropped Viqar at the railway station when the latter had left in search of a job. Viqar reportedly left for Delhi by AP Express and was in constant touch with his family over telephone. A few months after leaving for Delhi, he told his parents that he was going to a Gulf country for job.
However, his conversation with his family used to be crisp and pointed.
According to sources, Viqar used to ask his parents about their well-being and most of the times, he used to talk with his mother. But, the family never got a reply when they asked Viqar about his whereabouts.
Ahmed told the police that he used to ask his son about his whereabouts whenever Viqar called him.
He claimed that he never got an answer from Viqar. Sources said the photograph of Viqar, which the media managed to get after the Santoshnagar shootout incident, was released by the Darsgah Jihad-O-Shahadat (DJS). Viqar used to be an active member of the DJS previously.
‘’The DJS is known for its tricks to get foreign funds. By releasing Viqar’s photograph, they probably wanted to show that they were still active, and get funds,’’ a police official said.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to make any progress in the Santoshnagar shootout incident.
