Bikes, autos banned on Outer Ring Road

HYDERABAD: The Outer Ring Road (ORR) from Gachibowli to Kishanguda will be open to vehicles going towards the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.

The road from Gachibowli to Kishanguda runs via Nanakramguda, Rakta Maisamma temple, Narsingi, AP Police Academy, Himayatsagar and Kotwalguda.

Two and three-wheelers will not, however, be allowed to ply on this road as per the traffic restrictions imposed by Cyberabad police commissioner S Prabhakar Reddy here today.

The restrictions will come into effect on Nov 14 when the ORR will be opened to vehicular traffic by Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Heavy goods and other goods vehicles like lorries/lorry tippers/concrete mixter lorries/tractors, milk vans, water tankers, DCM vans and others would not be allowed on the Gacchibowli to Kotwalguda road in both directions.

Three and two-wheelers also will not be allowed on the ORR.

Parking of vehicles on the ORR is strictly prohibited.

The speed limit on the road will be 60 kmph while it will be 40 kmph at the bottlenecks (diversion points).
