HYDERABAD: Parle Products launched its campaign ‘Parle My Green Planet’ in an effort to create environmental awareness among school children on Tuesday. The campaign involves over 5000 schools and environmentalists from all over India. It will take up initiatives like planting trees, conserving water and collecting waste wrappers.

“The programme aims at involving schoolchildren and educate them about their responsibility towards the environment,” said B Krishna Rao, group product manager, Parle Products.

They have tied up with Give India, a NGO , to encourage schools to participate in the campaign.

“We plan to plant a minimum of one lakh trees, across India, and motivate schoolchildren to collect Parle wrappers off the streets and school premises,” said Kartiki Karihaloo, Assistant Brand Manager, Parle Products.

To increase student participation in the campaign, Parle Products have also organised awards that will be given at the end of the campaign.
