HYDERABAD: In a fresh fight among the feuding Sanghi brothers, Sudhir Sanghi lodged a complaint against his estranged brother and former MP Girish Sanghi alleging that the latter had manhandled him at the office of the Sanghi Polyester Limited (SPL) at Hayathnagar today.
Sudhir Sanghi’s family members claimed that they had gone to the company to hold talks with the agitating workers, who had not been paid salaries for the last several months, when they were attacked by Girish and his associates. The protracted war among the Sanghi brothers - Girish, Ravi, Sudhir and Anand - over who should be the managing director of the SPL was settled on December 15 with the High Court permitting Sudhir to hold the post.
Sudhir alleged in his complaint that when he, along with his wife Usha and son Siddharth, had gone to the company, Girish, along with 15 others, had attacked them. The attack resulted in bleeding injuries to all of them.
As Girish and his followers fled the scene after the alleged attack, Sudhir, Usha and Siddharth sat on a dharna at the office.
“When my uncle (Sudhir) went to the company, Ravi was already inside the SPL. Ravi immediately called Girish, who arrived with 40 goons carrying lathis, swords and other arms. Sudhir, Usha and Siddharth were attacked causing them bleeding injuries,” Sudhir’s nephew and joint managing director Amit told Express.
Sudhir had two gunmen accompanying him at the time of the incident. One of them, Vinay Pande, got his ear slashed in the attack. Sudhir’s vehicles were also damaged. “Several workers who tried to come to the rescue of Usha were thrashed,” Amit alleged.
Sudhir mentioned Girish’s henchmen Subbaramaiah, Shareef, Pyush, Suryanarayana and others in the complaint.
LB Nagar deputy commissioner of police D Nagendra Kumar said cases were registered against Girish Sanghi for obstructing Sudhir Sanghi from entering the premises and for causing simple injuries. Both bailable offences.
“No arrests have been made as of now. We are investigating the case,” Nagendra Kumar told Express. The family members of Sudhir alleged that Girish was using his political clout to influence the police.
Meanwhile, SPL workers lamented that their lives were being crushed in the fight among the Sanghi brothers.
