Veteran film director passes away

HYDERABAD: Yesteryear's director V Madhusudhana Rao, (95) popularly known as 'Victory' Madhusudana Rao, passed away here on Wednesday. He is survived by wife Saroja and two sons.

HYDERABAD: Yesteryear's director V Madhusudhana Rao, (95) popularly known as 'Victory' Madhusudana Rao, passed away here on Wednesday. He is survived by wife Saroja and two sons.

Born in Peyyeru near Gudivada in Krishna district on July 27, 1917, Madhusudhana Rao debuted as director with 'Sati Tulasi' in the year 1959. Rakta Sambandham, Gudi Gantalu, Aradhana, Antasthulu, Aasthiparulu, Atma Balam, Krishnaveni, Mallepuvvu were some of the many movies he directed.

He was the recipient of Ragupathi Venkayya Award in the year 1997 for his outstanding contribution service to the Telugu film industry.

He also established an institute in the name of Madhu Film Institute and introduced many artistes to the Telugu film industry.

He introduced Nagarjuna, Ramesh Babu, Jagapathi Babu and Suresh to the big screen.
