Madhuwanti Saha

Ballerinas, ankle straps, pumps - who wouldn’t like a shoe to suit every mood? Well, two-month-old online portal Pink Chiq aims to please with affordable prices too. “We target young Indians, especially in college and aged between 20 and 25. So we offer high street designs at reasonable prices,” shares founder Saurabh Wadhwa, 29, who has an inhouse design team for 30 per cent of their stock. Also, Wadhwa’s retail background - he runs a high street shoe store called Forever in Delhi - is another significant factor. “We are in constant touch with our customers and know what they want,” says the founder, whose range of ballerinas and high heels are top sellers, besides the wedges, peep toes and gladiators. Pink Chiq was launched to “target the national market” and expand Wadhwa’s business. Most of their stock is sourced from wholesalers in Mumbai, Delhi and China.

The alumnus of The University of Manchester ensures many colour options and an inaugural 10 per cent off on all orders. And adding to the list, you can look forward to boots and more. They are flexible with exchanges to suit sizing and are working on loyalty programmes. Wadhwa updates his stock every month and gets many orders from Pune and Bangalore.

Shoes are priced at `999.
