CAT topper hurt in mishap

CAT- 2012 topper Ravi Teja Palla who scored 100 percentile in CAT-2012, met with an accident on Vizag-Bheemili beach stretch on Tuesday night.

 Ravi Teja who fell unconscious after the mishap, is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in the city.

 Though he sustained severe injuries, the youth is said to be out of danger.

 Police said Teja along with three other friends went to Bheemili in a car on Tuesday evening to celebrate his success in CAT.

 The youth is one among the 10 who got 100 percentile in CAT-2012.

 While returning, the car met with an accident.

 He lost control over the vehicle while avoiding a pedestrian from being hit.

 It is learnt that the incident occurred at a steep curve where there were no streetlights.

 On receiving information, the 108 ambulance along with the police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured youths to hospital.

 The police said two of them were critically injured but their condition is stable.

 The doctors said all the injured are in the ICU and their exact health condition can be ascertained only on Thursday.

 Teja, son of inspector of police PR Rajendra Kumar, brought laurels to the city by becoming the first Vizagite to score 100 percentile.

 He passed BTech from IIT-Madras in 2012 and is now a management trainee of Tata Motors in Pune.
