Vijay Sai back in judicial remand

Following the Supreme Court directions, V Vijay Sai Reddy surrendered in the Special CBI court on Wednesday in the assets case of jailed Kadapa MP and YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Sai Reddy, auditor of the companies owned by Jagan, was the accused number two.

The CBI court sent Vijay Sai Reddy to judicial custody till June 17. Subsequently he was shifted to the Chanchalguda central prison where Jagan and other accused in the case have been lodged since more than an year.

On May 9 the Supreme Court cancelled the order passed by the High Court which upheld the bail granted to Vijay Sai by the trial court in April last year.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sai moved a petition in the CBI court seeking special category status in jail.

The hearing on the petition was adjourned to Thursday.

HC Closes Land Case Against TGV

The High Court on Wednesday closed a public interest petition challenging the decision of the state government to allot land to the family of  minister TG Venkatesh.

D Venkata Krishna Reddy, a farmer from Krishna district, moved the court seeking  declaration of the action of the government in allotting 3.12 acres of land to the minister’s family as part of  land compensation package under the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project as illegal.
