Those who want to spend their post retirement days in a calm and peaceful environment with well arranged facilities can add another destination to their list. Heritage, an elder care services company has taken an initiative to provide quality life to seniors by launching an independent and assisted living home for seniors.

Called Kshetra, the home which is located at Moinabad, was formally inaugurated on Monday by senior trade and investment commissioner, Minister Commercial (South Asia), Australian Trade Commission (Australian government), Nicola Watkinson.

Dr KR Gangadharan, founder and director of Heritage Elder Care Services, explained that this was the first foray by the Heritage groups. With a bid to do more with the help of foreign investments, discussions with the governments of Australia and Sweden have been in progress.

Dr Ganagadharan said, “There are thousands of senior people who don’t have children to take care of them or their families are not willing to look after them. Our home will provide them with the facilities they need like their own homes.”

Yet to register their first resident, the centre has recreational facilities, a professional doctor and nurses to cater to medical needs.  Watkisnson added, “The culture of a an elder care home is popular only in western countries, but it is good to see that Asian countries are slowly adopting it. These kind of homes will give happy moments to seniors.”

The home has three categories under which an elderly resident can be registered. Rates start from around Rs 5 lakh per annum, including a security deposit and caution deposit.
