VRAs' protest on June 14

The Village Revenue Assistants Association has decided to organise Chalo Hyderabad on June 14 demanding resolution of their problems. The association’s office-bearers, who met here on Tuesday, decided to organise the protest programme to bring their grievances to the notice of the authorities.

In a press release, VRAA general secretary  Vangur Ramulu said that while Kerala, Tripura and West Bengal were paying Rs 10,000 salary to VRAs and treating them as Class-IV employees, the AP government was paying them only Rs 3,000 a month. The government constitutes PRCs to revise the pay of all employees whenever prices of essential commodities rise but never increases the salaries of VRAs.

Apart from the hike in salary, the VRAs  also demanded retirement benefits and promotions.
