Skyworth-Quad joint venture to set up TV plant

Skyworth India Electronics Pvt Ltd, a part of Shenzhen-based Skyworth Overseas Development, is partnering with city-based Quad Electronics Solutions Pvt Lt to set up an LED TV manufacturing unit in the state.

The joint venture between Quad and Skyworth will initially manufacture about 20,000 LED TVs a month and the first set is expected to be rolled by the end of December.

According to government officials, about 40 per cent of the components for the TV will be produced here and remaining imported. The final product, however, will be assembled here.

Officials of both Quad and Skyworth met minister for IT &communications Ponnala Lakshmaiah here on Friday who assured to offer incentives such as reimbursement of VAT as per the latest AP Electronics Policy.

Quad has a plant on a 2.5-acre land at Medchal in Ranga Reddy district and offers support to original equipment manufacturers to produce LED, LCD and smart TVs, and allied media equipment.

Skyworth manufactures and markets high-quality electronics, home appliances, digital and multimedia products like LED TVs.
