HYDERABAD: Governor ESL Narasimhan presented Dr Sunkara Balaparameswara Rao with a Lifetime Achievement Award at a conference held by Neurological Society of India on Thursday.

“Awareness on neuro diseases is essential and every one should take proper care to prevent neuro diseases,” pointed out Narsimhan.

“Treatment of neuro treatments has become very costly and common man cannot afford it. Focus should be on ensuring quality of life rather than patient’s lifespan. Practicing yoga and meditation also can give better results,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion,Dr Rao said, “Latest advances in medical technology are available for neurologists and neurosurgeons to identify problems. With these technologies, neuro problems can be diagnosed at an early stage itself. When I started my career, these technologies were not available.

In spite of availability of advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques, it is discouraging to see brain related cases rising. Everyone should be aware of nerve related diseases.”
