HYDERABAD: A day before birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar on Thursday, a group of historians from Hyderabad accused Osmania University of awarding Dr Ambedkar a false honorary doctorate without university’s logo and forged signature of Chancellor in the year 1953.
Dr Chiranjeevi Kolluri, a historian and president of the Hyderabad Deccan Democratic Alliance speaking to media on Thursday said that the honorary doctorate, known as Honoris Causa, was given to Dr Ambedkar did not have the then logo of Osmania University on it.
Moreover, he alleged that it was wrong on part of Burgula Ramakrishna Rao to have signed as the Chancellor of Osmania University.
Dr Kolluri said the seventh Nizam, being the Rajpramukh of Hyderabad state, was by default the Chancellor of OU and that it should have been his signature as on the Honoris Causa conferred on Dr Ambedkar.
