HYDERABAD: The love story of a 55-year-old woman and 22-year-old man in the city has shocked many.On Tuesday morning, one Arshiya Begum (55) and her neighbour Arshad (22) approached Golconda police to lodge a complaint stating that their family members are obstructing their marriage.

Begum’s husband had passed away three months ago.

Syed Fayaz, inspector, Golconda police, said, “Arshad and Arshiya say they are madly in love and want to marry. They have complained that their family members are creating hurdles for them as their marriage is unacceptable to them.” He further added: “We called a maulvi to counsel couple and after that they were sent home. Since such a marriage will be unnatural, we don’t see a point in registering a police complaint.”

Arshiya, a homemaker, is a mother of three children. Whereas, Arshad holds a BTech degree and works in a private company.  Arshiya’s children are married.

On her family’s insistence to not let her stay near her lover’s house, at present, she is staying with her son in Yousufguda.
