HYDERABAD: A man, allegedly a close aide of Tollywood actress Kajal Aggarwal, is the latest to be pulled into the drug dragnet. Puttkar Ronson Joseph alias Johny Joseph, reportedly a former manager of the actress, was arrested by the SIT on Monday for possessing ganja. Ronson was in possession of four gm of dry ganja in his house.
Ronson Joseph (38), who has been Aggarwal’s manager at one point of time, was apprehended from his house in Pride Apartments at Manikonda. While the SIT sleuths have summoned as many as 12 Tollywood celebrities so far for their alleged involvement with drug peddlers in the city, not one person even remotely related to the industry had been arrested yet.
Ronson Joseph is the first such arrest. Prohibition and Excise department, Director (Enforcement) Akun Sabharwal on Monday said, “The SIT has arrested 19 persons so far including Ronson Jopseh in connection with the drug trafficking case.
Ronson has been arrested and remanded. He was in possession of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances.” Officials are also probing whether he supplied the psychotropic substance to his friends. Repeated attempts to reach the actress and her mother went futile. Excise department commissioner Dr RV Chandravadan said, “An in-depth investigation is going on.”
