N Leelamani has retired as Judge of the Ernakulam Family Court. She is noted for her humanitarian intervention in cases of delicate nature as  most of those involved close relatives, including children.

N Leelamani has retired as Judge of the Ernakulam Family Court. She is noted for her humanitarian intervention in cases of delicate nature as  most of those involved close relatives, including children.

Leelamani, who hails from a very ordinary family in Thiruvananthapuram, joined the Judiciary in 1989 as a Second-Class Judicial Magistrate. She was instrumental in solving many cases of celebrities, including film stars.  Leelamani, who settled 3,922 disputes in 2013 alone, could sent about 80 couples back to their family life, after having their cases against each other withdrawn by her timely intervention.
