KOCHI:  Murder accused businessman Muhammed Nisham and his relatives are once again in the spotlight, for the wrong reasons.

While it was his Hummer and Ferrari cars that dragged Nisham into controversies, his brother Muhammad Nissar was arrested in the city on Wednesday after he threatened a motorist for allegedly ‘damaging’ his Rolls Royce car.

According to the police, Nissar verbally abused and threatened the driver of another car in front of St Jude Church on the Thammanam-Pullapady road around 6 pm on Wednesday for causing a minor collision, in which the Rolls Royce Ghost series car driven by the former was slightly damaged.

The accident occurred while Nissar overtook the Maruti Ritz car driven by Aneesh of Changampuzha Nagar. When Nissar came out of the car and abused Aneesh, the public called the police. The police team arrived at the spot and asked both of them to appear at the police station, along with the cars.

“Based on a complaint filed by Aneesh, a case was registered against Nissar at the Palarivattom police station for threatening the former. Later, he was released on bail. However, the Traffic Police did not register case as Nissar reached a settlement with the complainant,” said a police official.

The Rolls Royce’s Ghost series car (KL-08-BB-777) was registered in the name of Muhammed Nisham in 2013. The cost of the car is around `2 crore, and its road tax is `57 lakh. According to the police, ever since Muhammed Nisham was jailed on charges of allegedly murdering a security guard in Thrissur, the car was being used by Nissar.
