Four killed near Kochi as bus rams into car and bike

The incident took place at Varappuzha Bridge as the bus lost control and collided with a car and a bike at around 2 AM.

KOCHI: In a tragic incident, four people including two students were killed and three others seriously injured after a bus rammed into a car and a bike in Varappuzha near here on the wee hours of Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Akshay Sasikumar (20) and Jijisha (23) both B Tech students at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and Harishankar (27) of Paravoor and Kiran (25) of Pallikkara.

Five students including Akshay and Jijisha were in the car.

Three other students- Gudiya S Lal, Athira Sasikumar and Athulya Nair have been admitted to a hospital in the city and their condition is said to be critical. Hareendrasankar and Kiran were riding the bike.

According to Varappuzha police, the incident took place at Varappuzha Bridge as the bus lost control and collided with a car and a bike at around 2 AM.
