KOCHI: The third edition of ‘Print and Beyond,’ a national seminar on printing technology, was held here on Saturday.  The topic of this year’s meet, organised by the Kerala Master Printers Association (KMPA), was ‘Packaging.’  

The seminar was jointly inaugurated by Ramesh Kejriwal, chairman of Mumbai-based Parksons Packaging, and Rajendrakumar Anayath,  director of the Technological Institute of Textile and Science, Haryana. Anayath delivered a lecture on ‘Trends and Challenges in  Modern Print Education,’ which was followed by an interactive session of printers  and the speakers on the various aspects of printing technology. The session was moderated by   Print Week-India editor Ramu Ramanathan.

At the function, Bobst India business director Venugopal Menon delivered a speech on ‘Packaging Converting - Starting to Finishing.’ Ankit Tanna of Printman Group, Mumbai, spoke on the topic ‘Standardisation in Packaging’.

Around 195 delegates from different parts of the country attended the seminar. Print and  Beyond-2017 chairman Mahesh Karthik, KMPA state president S Saji and  secretary G Rajesh spoke. KMPA vice-presidents K Madhusoodanan, R Gopakumar, T F James, C R Nandakumar, Raju N Kutty and T N Sajeevan; former presidents Joseph Muttathottil, K P Sabu and Ajith Jose; and award committee convener K P Uthup were also present.
