KOCHI: President Pranab Mukherjee’s itinerary in Kochi on Thursday includes a maiden visit to the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. The President will have a first-hand experience of the spectacular contemporary art event where he will also inaugurate a seminar on the ‘Importance of sustainable culture building’ at Cabral Yard Pavilion.

In view of security reasons, both Aspinwall House and Cabral Yard will be closed for the day, but other Biennale venues will remain open. Entry will be free on Thursday.

After the inaugural function, the seminar on ‘Importance of sustainable culture- building’ will begin. Renowned poet Ashok Vajpeyi, Biennale co-founder and artist Riyas Komu and Malayalam poet K Satchidanandan are the panelists while Prof M V Narayanan will moderate the session.

The two-hour-long seminar is slated to begin at 5:15 pm. Entry restrictions will be lifted from March 3.
