KOCHI: A V Krishna Kumar, former instructor at Sivasakthi Yoga Centre, Tripunithura on Friday came out with startling revelations regarding the goings on at the centre while filing an application before the Kerala High Court seeking to implead in the habeas corpus petition filed by Rinto Isaac from Thrissur. Isaac has claimed he married a woman who had been held captive at the centre.According to Krishna Kumar, the men and women who married outside their caste and religion were brought to the centre and subjected to torture. “Such persons were brought to the Centre by the ‘Hindu helpline’.

The girls were tortured at various branches of the Yoga centre. If the women could not be made to fall in line, they were administered drug injections. Even nude pictures of the inmates were recorded and stored in the laptop with the aim of threatening them in the future,” he said.He alleged the institution injected hatred into the minds of the inmates against Muslims and Christians. They often deployed male staffers to entrap the girls who had inter-religious affairs. He and a few others had left the centre as they could not endorse the illegal activities, including the sexual abuse of the girls, by Manoj who ran the centre.

The petitioner said he was willing to share details of the illegal activities which had been taking place at the centre. However, unless the court passed the necessary orders, the police will not record his statements, according to Krishna Kumar. There were also threats to his life and he could be endangered by Manoj and his henchmen at any moment, he informed the court.
