Twenty20 initiatives for women’s empowerment

KOCHI: The rise of society and the country lies in the progress and upliftment of women, since putting economic resources in their hands is one of the best ways to accelerate development and sustainably reduce poverty. Heading towards this notion, Twenty20 Kizhakkambalam set forth various welfare schemes for women in their panchayat. Sabu M Jacob, Twenty 20 chief coordinator, and CEO and MD of Kitex Garments Ltd announced the programmes at VANITHA 2018, the women’s collective event held at Kizhakkambalam on Sunday.

The projects include a 36-month interest- free loan that will be provided through Kudumbashree for purchase of households and the residual amount will be paid off by Twenty20. 

In addition, Honda’s two wheeler will be offered to women with 36 months interest -free loan of Rs 1,670 per month including 5 year guarantee and insurance. Furthermore, the two wheeler is also available at half price via Kudumbashree, notified the coordinators.

Products like Ironbox, Utensils, Bed, Gas Stove, Mixer Grinder, Samsung J4 mobile phone,  Washing Machine, Refrigerator and Sony LED TV (32-inch) will be distributed for half price via Kudumbashree on  a  monthly payment of Rs 18,Rs 28,Rs 30,Rs 42,Rs 72,Rs 154,Rs 236,Rs 236and Rs 362 respectively.
