THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor K.B. Ganesh Kumar has bagged the best actor award in the State Television Awards, which were announced here on Friday. The legislator was selected for the award for his performance in the serial ‘ Madhavam ,’  telecast by Soorya TV.

 Actress Meera Vasudev secured the best actress award for her performance in the serial ‘ Kanalpoovu ’. Manorama News director Johny Lukose bagged the award for the best interviewer and award for the best comperer went to Sreekantan Nair of Asianet.

Sarath Chandran of People TV won the best news reader award and Manjush Gopal of Asianet won the award for best investigative reporting. Raj Kalesh of Amrita TV won the award for the best anchor.

 The other awards are the following: Best serial - ‘ Daya ’, best telefilm - ‘ Typewriter ’, best second telefilm - ‘ Annayude Lillipookkal ’, best director - T. Deepesh, best story-writer - Satheesh K. Satheesh, best screenplay - Valsan Vathussery, best supporting actress - Meera Nandan, best supporting actor - Ershad, cinematographer - Jaleel Badushah, editor - Rajesh Thrissur, Music director - Sanand George, best child artist - Gouri Pramod, sound editor - C.R. Chandran, art director - J.P. Chittarickal, best documentary - 16 mm memories by K.R. Manoj.
