THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Noted writer K R Meera has been selected for the V P Sivakumar Memorial ‘Keli’ award, instituted by Keli, Mavelikara. The Jury comprising K S Ravikumar, Architect G Shankar and P V Radhakrishnan selected her story ‘Guillotine’, published in the Mathrubhumi Weekly on October 5, 2008, for the award.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5001, citation and a sculpture designed by V C John.

Jury chairman K S Ravikumar told a news conference here on Friday that the jury had observed that K R Meera’s  stories stands out from the familiar line of feminist writing. The award will be presented to her at a function to be held in Mavelikara on September 5.
