THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Cabinet on Tuesday granted permission to acquire 7.8 hectares of land in Attipra village near Kazhakkoottam for the development of Technopark phase III.

According to a statement, two acres of non-SEZ land in the phase III has been allotted to HCL Technologies.  The lease agreement for this will be signed on December 7 in the presence of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan.

With the acquisition of 7.8 hectares, the land acquisition for Technopark phase III would be complete.

The work for the biggest IT building of one million square feet is also progressing at a fast pace and is expected to be completed by mid-2011, the statement said.

Technopark Chief Executive Officer Mervin Alexander said that when the phase III campus becomes fully operational, it will provide employment for around 25,000 IT professionals.
