THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:  Forest Minister Binoy Viswam said that young poets should write poems imbibing the poetic vision of Ayyappa Panicker.

He was speaking at the function held here on Monday to present the first Swathi-Ayyappa Panicker literary award, instituted by Swathi Samskarika Samithi, to young poet S V Aryambika. The Minister said that Aryambika’s poems presented a philosophical dimension to readers. Writer-director Sreekumaran Thampi presented a plaque to the award-winner with her name inscribed on it. Poovachal Khader, Chunakkara Ramankutty, K Raveendran Nair and Meera Ayyappa Panicker were also present at the function.  Swathi Samskarika Samithi president G Hemakumar presided.
