THIRUVANATHAPURAM: The Centre For Adult Continuing Education and Extension (CACEE) of the Kerala University School Enhancement Programme has initiated a programme for improving the standard of learning of Government City Higher Secondary School, PMG.

The programme was inaugurated by magician Gopinath Muthukad here on Monday. It would focus on the development of knowledge and language levels of the students.

Muthukad, in his inaugural address, said that the students should have a vision in mind. They should also work hard to realise the vision.  He also advised students to learn how to regulate their subconscious mind.

Often, students try to imitate actors who are shown consuming  alcohol and using tobacco in films, he said.

A R Supriya, director in charge of CACEE, said that the centre would start various programmes in the school like problem identification sessions, counselling for students and parents, Friday clinic, Question Box, monthly group counselling, training in soft skills and special classes to improve English for students of standard VIII.

Principal of the School Santhamma Thomas also spoke on the occasion.

The CACEE will formulate programmes for the development of the schools, upgrade the standard of education and improve skills of students throughout the State. Muthukad also performed some magic tricks carrying messages of unity and communal harmony in society, for the benefit of the students.
