THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A CD of kirtans played on the violin by Anand Jayaram, son of Carnatic musician Prof Varkala C S Jayaram, was released here the other day by eminent vocalist R K Srikantan.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A CD of kirtans played on the violin by Anand Jayaram, son of Carnatic musician Prof Varkala C S Jayaram, was released here the other day by eminent vocalist R K Srikantan.

 Mridangam maestro Prof Mavelikkara Velukutty Nair received the first copy during the valedictory of the Neelakanta Sivan  Music Festival here.

 Principal Accountant General J Mahalekshmy Menon was chief guest at the function held at the SSJDB Hall, Karamana. Anand Jayaram is a sound engineering student at Music Lounge, Chennai. For his renditions in the CD, he was accompanied by Rakesh on the Mridangam and Kadanad Ananthakrishnan on the Ganjira.
