MP Govindan Nair assumes charge

Former minister M P Govindan Nair has assumed charge as the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president on Monday. Govindan Nair and V Subhash took the oath of office at a function held in the Board headquarters here. The new president told media persons that the Board would work in unison with Chief Devaswom Commissioner K Jayakumar.

He was replying to a poser on the government order assigning the Chief Devaswom Commissioner with full powers.  “It is not a problem and the Board will only gain from the vast experience of Jayakumar,” he said. V Subhash is the president of Mavelikkara SNDP Union.
