Chithira Thirunal Birth festival starts today

The 101st birth anniversary celebrations of Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma will be held at Kowdiar Palace on Saturday.

The 101st birth anniversary celebrations of Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma will be held at Kowdiar Palace on Saturday.

The programme organised by the Sree Chithira Thirunal Smaraka Samithi will begin early in the morning with ‘parayanam’ by Shyamala Sambasivan and team, followed by prayer songs and ‘sangeetha bharathy’ led by K Omanakutty.

 ‘Pushparchana’ led by Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma will be held from 8.15 am to 10 am. The Sree Chithira Thirunal Kavyanjali will be inaugurated by R Ramachandran Nair IAS (retd) at Levy Hall, Fort at 5.30 pm.

 KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, Ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, V S Sivakumar and P K Jayalakshmi and K Muraleedharan MLA will be among the eminent guests.
