The first award instituted by the  Vakkom Khader National Foundation will be given to the film ‘’September 10, 1943’’.

  The film on INA hero Vakkom Khader is scripted and directed by Mohammed Rafi Thanoor. The award ceremony will be held on September 10 on the 70th anniversary of his martyrdom, at Olympia chambers at Chandrasekharan Nair stadium here.

 Union Minister Vayalar Ravi will inaugurate the function and give away the prize.

E T Mohammed Basheer MP,  K T Jaleel MLA,  M P Veerendrakumar, M M Hassan and Anathalavattom Anandan will participate. Freedom-fighters K E Mammen, K Ayyappan Pillai, Mannanthala Karunakaran, P Viswambharan, K K Muhammed, Chettachal  Sekharan Nair and M A Azad Khan will be honoured at the function.

 Besides, the families of the INA heroes Vakkom Khader, C P Eapen, Boniface Periera,  K A George and K K Govind who were captuted by British during their journey in a Japanese submarine to the coast of Malabar and Baroda will be given mementos.
