THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thikkurissi Foundation has announced the eighth media-literary awards. Chunakkara Ramankutty will be honoured with the Thikkurissi Sahithya Puraskaram taking into account his overall contribution. Senior artistes G K Pillai and Sreelatha Namboothiri would be honoured with fellowships.

Theatre-literature awards are as follows: Prasanth Narayanan, School of Drama (best theatre person), ‘Kalayum Kazhchayum’ (best book on theatre), ‘Adwaitham Americayil’ (best novel), ‘Venalile Vazhikinarukal’ (best poem), ‘Malayala Cinema Innale Innu’ (best book on films), ‘Kshubhitha Kalathinte Suviseshakan’ (best critical work), Rahim Panavur (best film reporter), Ramesh Babu (best feature reporter).

J Ajith Kumar was selected as the best journalist, V Binulal as the best photographer and Gopikrishnan, best reporter. Television awards for best documentary went to ‘Ekanthathayude Azhimukhangal’, best education programme to ‘Uthuppante Kinar’ and ‘Kanneerum Kinavum’. Kumarakam Reghunath was selected as the best actor and Gouri Krishna as the best actress.
