Governor Approves Saju Georges Appointment

Express News Service

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Justice P Sathasivam on Wednesday signed the government’s recommendation to appoint Saju George as Public Service Commission Secretary.

Government’s decision to appoint Saju George as PSC Secretary had met with a roadblock with   PSC Chairman K S Radhakrishnan raising certain objections citing the anomalies in his appointment in PSC claiming the Scheduled Tribe status.

As the issue got entangled in litigation and  the entire Commission remain divided over the issue, his posting was delayed. Moreover, following the complaint by the PSC Chairman, the Governor had returned the file to the government more than twice seeking clarification.

On the controversy over his caste, ‘Express’ had earlier reported that Saju George’s caste as ‘mala araya’ had been confirmed by KIRTADS, the authentic body responsible for issuing such certificates. Moreover, he had got a favourable ruling from the KAT in this regard. Now, with the approval by the Governor, the file will be returned to the government and  it will issue a GO in this regard in a day or two.
