College of Engineering Trivandrum signs treaty with UST Global

The MoU will help CET students enhance their knowledge about the latest technologies by working on UST Global’s innovation ecosystem.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tech firm UST Global has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) that will allow Infinity Labs, the innovative arm of the company, to collaborate with the college in advanced technologies like robotics and artificial intelligence. The MoU will help CET students enhance their knowledge about the latest technologies by working on UST Global’s innovation ecosystem. The company will offer internship to students on its campus in Thiruvananthapuram for three to six months.

CET principal J David said the association with UST Global will go a long way in bridging the gap between academia and industry. The students have already shown keen interest in working the Infinity Labs of UST Global and have taken up projects related to areas like block chain, artificial intelligence, deep learning, robotics and financial engineering, he said.As the first step, the Infinity Labs, UST and CET have joined hands to develop a novel social robot for the company.

Infinity lab’s senior director (digital innovation) Sachith Sebastian said the MoU will help in generating innovative concepts to solve the business problems.“We are happy to join hands with the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram to engage student interns in our state-of-the-art Infinity Labs, to work on innovative digital solutions and platforms. We are confident they can help us in coming up with innovative concepts and ideas to solve the business problems of our Fortune 500/Global 1000 customers,” Sachith said.
