VIJAYAWADA: Kondapalli Fort will soon get a facelift as the officials of Tourism Department are preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of one of the tourist spots closest to the capital city of Amaravati.

The officials of the Tourism Department embarked on developing additional infrastructure including construction of cottages and food courts with an estimated cost of `4 crore.
As the Kondapalli Fort has historical background, the Tourism Department drew designs with new attractions by giving preference to historical evidences.

According to the Tourism secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, the officials are preparing the DPR to provide special tourism attractions in and around the fort to ensure that tourists spending some time at the fort will stay at least for two days and enjoy their tour to Kondapalli Fort. All the details of project report would be submitted to the CM in a meeting scheduled for July 19 and the officials would go ahead with the plan after getting a nod from the CM.
