VIJAYAWADA: Mystery shrouds the suicide of a Class 10 student in Bapulapadu village of Hanuman Junction mandal. The deceased, identified as Krishna (14), ended life by hanging himself at his hostel room on Tuesday night.

While Krishna’s family alleged that he committed suicide unable to withstand the school management’s insults for delaying payment of the remaining fees in front of his fellow students, the school officials, claiming innocence, said he was depressed and took the extreme step fearing he could not appear for the examinations.

Even though the incident took place on Tuesday night, the parents were informed about his death only in the morning.

According to sources, Krishna was a student at a private school. “Depressed over the school management’s harassment that he would be taken out of the school if he did not pay the rest of his fees, he might have committed suicide in his hostel room around 11 pm on Tuesday,” they said. However, no complaint was lodged against the incident at the Hanuman Junction police station.

“We have not received any complaint in this regard. If anyone lodges a complaint, we will start an investigation into the case, ”police officials said.
