VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Commission Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra directed officials to issue loans to groups formed based on common interests such as construction, transport, care, and domestic waste workers under the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) 2.0.

Vijayawada has been selected for the pilot project of NULM, and the Commissioner, along with other officials, held a meeting to discuss the implementation of the scheme. A committee was formed for this purpose, with the Commissioner serving as the chairman.

Dhyanachandra instructed officials to expedite the formation of common interest groups and ensure the project commences as soon as possible. He also directed the release of loans for these groups through lead district managers. He called on Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) staff to ensure that all central government schemes reach the public.
