Pondy PWA Constituents Sign Seat Sharing Deal

The DMDK has been allotted 4 seats, but that party’s leadership sought time to consult their top leadership.

PUDUCHERRY: The People’s Welfare Alliance(PWA) constituents signed seat sharing agreement after the conclusion of the talks here on Wednesday.

Addressing reporters after the PWA convenor and state CPI secretary R Viswanathan said that  the CPI would contest 8,Viduthalai Chiruthaigal (VCK) 7, CP I(M) 4,MDMK 4, and RSP 1.

The DMDK has been allotted 4 seats, but that party’s leadership sought time to consult their top leadership in Chennai and get back.

Viswanathan said the PWA will support the independent candidate Prof V Ramachandran, supported by the Left Democratic Front while in Yanam; the alliance will extend support to an independent candidate.

Viswanathan said the identification of constituencies will be done in the next round of talks.

Asked about the DMDK, which lead the alliance in Tamil Nadu, show any disagreement, a PWA source said then the alliance will put up candidates in the four seats also.

The agreement was signed by Viswanathan (CPI),  R Rajangam (CPM) Devapozhilan (VCK), Chandrasekar (MDMK), and Lenin (RSP).
