The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday announced its first list of 177 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.

While chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will contest from Budhni seat, state ministers Narottam Mishra and Yashodhara Raje Scindia will fight from Datia and Shivpuri seats respectively.

This comes after a meeting of the party's central election committee (CEC) in Delhi on Thursday. Chouhan along with Narendra Singh Tomar, Rakesh Singh and state-in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe were present in the meeting held in the residence of Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

As the decision during the meeting remained inconclusive, another marathon meeting was held in party chief Amit Shah's residence

Following a series of meeting, the committee unanimously agreed with party feedback and likely to deny tickets to about 45 sitting MLAs.
