HYDERABAD: A Congress delegation led by senior Congress leader M Shashidhar Reddy submitted a representation to the Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar against TRS party alleging that the party was organising caste-based meetings to muster support and influence voters, which accounts to violation of Election Code of Conduct and requested action be initiated.

Shashidhar Reddy along with other Congress leaders G Niranjan, Shyam Mohan, T Narender said that TRS leader K T Rama Rao had attended the meeting of weavers on November 3 and assured to provide insurance if they come to power. In another meeting, KT Rama Rao, while addressing a meeting of RMP and PMP  doctors at Sircilla, announced that certificates would be issued to them.

Now, the TRS has proposed to hold a meeting of Brahmin community on November 8 at Balaji Bhavan, TTD Kalyanamandapam, but using a place of worship was not permissible under the Model Code of Conduct, the delegation alleged.

Congress leaders also submitted another representation to the CEO questioning the visit of TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao to Delhi on October 28 for eye and dental checkup, for which he went in a charter plane. The leaders said a caretaker CM could not use official machinery.
